Who is responsible

Skate Academy GmbH (Skate Academy / AXL) is responsible for the data described here. Contact for all privacy questions and requests: office@skate-academy.com.

What we receive from Garmin

Only after you (or, for a child, a parent / legal guardian) agree and sign in at Garmin: daily summaries (steps, resting heart rate, stress, Body Battery), sleep, heart-rate variability (HRV), user metrics and your activities (type, duration, heart rate).

We never see or ask for your Garmin password. You choose in Garmin which data you share, and you can change that in Garmin Connect at any time.

Why we use it

To plan training and recovery: the coaching and performance staff see a recovery and load overview next to the academy's own data (session effort, jump and force tests). The legal basis is your consent.

Everything shown from Garmin is marked “Garmin”. The data is not used for advertising, credit, insurance or employment decisions.

AI transparency statement

AI analysis is optional and only happens if you tick the separate AI box. Then the staff may ask an AI system (Claude by Anthropic) to look for patterns, for example a drop in sleep or HRV before a heavy training week.

Names are removed before data is sent to the AI. The AI only makes suggestions; a coach decides. Nothing is decided automatically.

Your Garmin data, and any prompts, answers or summaries made from it, are never used to train, test or improve any AI model, and are not kept for that purpose.

You can switch AI analysis off at any time on the Garmin page in the hub (“Switch AI analysis off”). It stops from that moment.

Who sees it

Only the academy's coaching and performance staff. Not other families, not clubs. The data is never sold or passed on to third parties.

Service providers who process it for us: Vercel (hosting of this connection app, EU region Frankfurt), Supabase (database, EU), Anthropic (AI analysis, only with your AI consent, names removed).

How long we keep it

As long as the connection exists, at most about 400 days back. When you disconnect (here, in the hub, or by removing Skate Academy in Garmin Connect), all Garmin data stored by the academy is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, object to its use, and withdraw your consent at any time (office@skate-academy.com). You can also complain to the data protection authority (in Switzerland the FDPIC / EDÖB).

The service

The Garmin connection is an extra service of the academy for its athletes. It is free, can be ended at any time, and the academy may change or stop it.

Garmin data is shown for training planning only. It is not medical advice and must not be used where life or health depends on it.

Garmin provides its data “as is”. Garmin is not responsible for this service, and as far as the law allows, no claims can be made against Garmin in connection with it.

If the academy later sends workouts to your Garmin account, that data goes to Garmin and is handled under the Garmin Connect privacy notice. Do not use that feature if you are not allowed to upload data to your Garmin account.

Misuse

Please report any misuse or a problem with the service to office@skate-academy.com. The academy can stop a connection that is misused.
